Yves Girardin Chassagne-Montrachet Rouge 2022 is a refined red wine crafted from 100% Pinot Noir grapes, grown in limestone and clay soils. The vines, averaging 40 years in age, are planted densely at 10,000 vines per hectare. The grapes are hand-harvested and carefully sorted both in the vineyard and the winery. After 100% destemming, the wine is aged for 10 to 12 months in French oak barrels, with 30% new oak, and bottled during the descending moon for optimal quality.
This wine boasts a deep purple hue with violet highlights. Its flavors are fruity, round, and well-balanced, featuring notes of fresh fruit and roasted nuts. On the palate, it is both smooth and well-structured. Best enjoyed at 16-17°C, it pairs wonderfully with grilled red meats and meat dishes in rich sauces. With proper storage, this wine can be cellared for 5 to 8 years.
